Science Center - Mitsubishi Mirai Gijutsu-kan @Yokohama

At Mitsubishi Mirai Gijutsu-kan in Yokohama Minato-Mirai, Kids can experience science.
I'd like to introduce some highlights when we visited.

It's just a 3-minute walk from Yokohama Landmark Tower!

We first saw the train technology called APM (Automated People Mover) which runs without operator or trainmaster! This technology is used not only in Japan but over the world!

I'm so impressed and proud of Japan's technology!

Even for the LRT train in Singapore where I stay!

This is the submarine technology. It can go down to the deep sea!

Deep-Sea Drilling Vessel "Chikyu" (The earth).

It can drill to the earth mantle and even earthquake area!

Here comes the space area.

You can go behind this space suit and take pictures as if you were wearing it. :)

It was quite interesting even to the adult.
It could be a good experience for kids to know about these technologies and science.
You can see Japan's state of the art technology by Mitsubishi!
There are a lot of kids events as well.

Peach Picking @Nakagami Orchards in Yamanashi!

One of attractive activity in Japan is to experience fruit picking. There are various kinds of fruit picking throughout the year. During my son's June school holiday, we have decided to try the fruit picking, especially for my son because there is no such opportunity in Singapore at all!

We came to Yamanashi for Peach picking but we also found that there is a shrine called Takeda-Jinja for Takeda Shingen.

From Wiki:

Takeda Shingen (武田 信玄, December 1, 1521 – May 13, 1573), of Kai Province, was a pre-eminent daimyō in feudal Japan with exceptional military prestige in the late stage of the Sengoku period.^[1] 

 *Takeda is a family name in Japanese.

Famous Shingen was managing Kai Province which is the current Yamanashi prefecture.
So, Takeda Shrine treats Shingen as a god.

We wash hands before praying.

This is where we pray for good fortune. 

We were lucky to see 'Ngoshi-no Harae'.

This is an old-time shrine activity we wish for good luck by removing some dirt of life you get by summer.

Of course, I tried it. :)

There was a museum in this shrine and you can see many Shingen & other samurai's belongings including Katana.

There is a paper fortune but it's from the box of the Japanese lion dance.

I've never seen anything like this before!

Peach Picking @Nakagami Orchards in Yamanashi!

June's fruit picking is usually cherry & peach, however, it's a little early season to pick peaches.
 But, my son & I LOVE Japanese peaches.

Here comes PEACH FRUIT PICKING TRIP in Japan!

Yamanashi prefecture is where half of Mr. Fuji is located. :)
Nakagami Orchards was a huge farm!
Though it was still a bit early for Peach Picking, there were many people looking forward to picking the eat the fresh peaches!

The moment we enter, we moved on for payment and ready to pick peaches!
No waiting time! 😃

It's a little early season for peach picking in June, but we were able to see some.
There were a few kinds of peach trees and you can enjoy the different tastes.

After picking some, we can eat on the spot!

Freshly picked peaches were soooo tasty!

And of course, it's so SWEET! 💖

You can pick & eat as many as you wish.
But you cannot bring back. 😉

We also saw some young foreigners from Singapore and Europe countries working there!
It seems they are doing farm stay there.
